IJDE Spring 2007 Issue
The Spring 2007 issue of the International Journal of Digital Evidence (IJDE) was just published.
Two of the three articles build on earlier ones. Kiley, Shinbara, and Rogers account for the new generation of Apple iPods and correspondingly update the procedures described in a paper by Marsico and Rogers in 2005.
"Identifying Authorship by Byte-Level N-Grams: The Source Code Author Profile (SCAP) Method" by Frantzeskou, Stamatatos, Gritzalis, Chaski and Howald builds on an earlier paper by Chaski. They apply n-grams, a technique used to analyze natural language, to source code, i.e. an artificial language.
In "Session Based Packet Marking and Auditing for Network Forensics" Demir, Ji, and Kim describe a method for network forensics which is based on TCP sessions.
